NMTF launch National Youth Market

Applications are open for the fifth National Youth Market, organised by one of the two main market bodies the NMTF.

The National Youth Market is in partnership with Manchester Markets, and is heralded as a celebration of young entrepreneurship on our national markets, festivals and fairs.

The event takes place on Friday, 1 and Saturday, 2 September 2017 on King Street, Manchester, a premium shopping street in the bustling heart of Manchester. There are 50 free pitches available for young entrepreneurs aged between 16 and 30 who are based in the UK and run a business on a market, festival or fair.

The NMTF is holding a competition amongst young traders and fellow traders and market operators are being encouraged to nominate their young entrepreneurs. £500 will be awarded to the Young Trader of the Year and £100 each will be awarded to four Highly Commended Traders. Additionally, all five will have the great opportunity to trade on Manchester’s Christmas Market for free, for two weeks for the winner and a week each for the runners up.

As previously mentioned, the NMTF has teamed up with NABMA to support Love Your Local Market 2017. The focus on this year’s campaign is supporting young people to trade on markets and throughout the campaign, market operators all over the country will be offering free or discounted pitches to young people so they can test the market.

This is the ideal opportunity to nominate your ‘Youth Market Champion’ to be put forward for this fantastic prize.
