Saturday 10th January saw the launch of the first Hertfordshire Food & Drink Awards 2015. Hertford Market hosted the event with Events & PR, a company recognised for event management.
Among the categories there is a Best Farmers Market Stallholder holder one which has already received a number of nominations by the public for traders on Hertford Market.
Councillor William Ashley, Vice President of NABMA launched the event saying
“I am pleased to support the Hertfordshire Food and Drink Awards 2015 and welcome the opportunity to launch them at Hertford Farmers Market.
“I am delighted to see that there is a category for The Best Farmers Market Stallholder. This is encouraging for market traders and producers and is an opportunity for their achievements to be celebrated.”
We are encouraging all our traders to become involved and promote the awards to their customers. Market traders have embraced the awards seeing it as a way of encouraging their customer to get involved more with the market and support small businesses.
The voting is now underway lasting until the end of March and again the events team will be out at the themed Valentine Market on 14th February encouraging more voters.
