Lichfield’s popular monthly Farmers’ Market will celebrate its 15th Anniversary on Thursday 2nd June on Market Square, 9am – 3pm.

Lichfield City Council will mark the occasion with a celebration cake, raffle competition, FREE face painting, children’s craft activities, an owl display and entertainment with Steel pan sounds from Jamma throughout the day.

A competition to win vouchers to spend at the Farmers’ Market will be held on the day. 1st Prize £50, 2nd Prize £25 and 3rd Prize £10.  Lichfield City Council will be selling raffle tickets on the day for £1 a strip. Visit the market square to enter this fantastic competition and get a free slice of cake while it lasts! Money raised from the raffle with benefit this year’s Mayor and Sheriff’s charities, The We Love Lichfield Fund and Erasmus Darwin Foundation.

Farmers' 15thLichfield’s very own Town Crier will be in town on the day giving a celebratory shout out and welcoming all to the market square; and  the Mayor, Councillor Mrs Sheelagh James will be cutting the cake at 12 noon and announcing the winners of the competition at 2pm.

Amongst the day’s offerings will also be the usual quality selection of baked goods and cakes, cheeses, wine, meat and cider, to name a few, as well as hand crafted and bespoke lines.

Established by Lichfield City Council back in June 2001 the monthly Farmers’ Market has since become a prominent fixture in Lichfield, hosting more than 25 local traders, all from within 50 miles.

Taking place on Lichfield’s historic Market Square on the first Thursday of every month (except January) it has gained a reputation for being one of the most successful Farmers’ Market in Staffordshire.  Five of the original traders at the very first Farmers’ Market held in Lichfield are still successfully trading today, Packington Moor Farm, 19 Gales Farmhouse Foods, Woodhouse Farm, R Morris & Sons and Woodhouse Green Nurseries.

General Markets are held on the Market Square on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays every week throughout the year, 9am – 4pm.  Come down and give your support to your local market!
