40 years at Boston Market

Dave McGuffog is aiming for his half century after trading non-stop on Boston Market for the past 40 years.

His pitch on other markets has come and gone, but Boston has been the constant for all that time.

His family-run business, Bourne Blinds and Flooring, manufactures and fits blinds, shutters and curtains with sons Olly and Louis concentrating on the flooring side.

The business began life in Bourne, in Lincolnshire, and now has its base at Marshland St James, near Wisbech. Looking after things there is Dave’s wife Jan who said: “Boston’s market is still one of the biggest and best which is why it is the one Dave still goes to. I’m sure he’ll be aiming for his half century now.

“We have lots of regular and repeat customers and good word of mouth in the Boston area.”

Boston Market is held in Boston Market Place every Saturday 8.30am to 3.30pm and also at Bargate Green on Wednesdays.
